This is a G rated Story

“Well, now!” he began with his deep drawling voice. “I really did make a good choice in staying on tonight for observation.” Lisa purposely avoided his eyes as she placed his tray on the table. She loved the flirtation, but kept silent so that she could drain every last bit of charm out of this fresh specimen that he could muster.

He most accommodatingly persisted and said, “A feast for the eyes can be found right here, and that’s all the observing I need.” Lisa was smug with satisfaction at the tension that hung in the air as he briefly waited the anticipated response. Not quick to show mercy, Lisa still didn’t grant him a word, which forced him to take the tact of asking her something to ensure a reply.

Aah, I see you’re not the talkative one, but you’ll have to excuse me for going on like this. I can’t help myself when I get inspired, and right now the view in room 440 is quite inspiring, don’t you think?” She played innocent to the fact that he was talking about her.

“I’m being checked for a concussion that I got during football practice earlier today. I don’t know about my head, but I don’t mind saying that my heart’s certainly needs a going over since you walked into the room.”

“You’re sure that you’re simply not getting a heady feeling from the aroma of tonight’s menu?" Lisa teased. “To be honest, my heart’s been jumping over hurdles since I’ve seen you too. Say, what’s your name anyway?”

He stood up and bowed gracefully as he said, “Gary Monplaisir, at your service, mademoiselle.” Lisa found herself awash in just how irresistible he was. He was so terribly charming and romantic that Lisa forgot all about her earlier resentment in having to spend the day at the hospital. She excused herself to run off and tell Mrs. Raleigh that she would have no problem staying for a second shift that evening. Luckily the other girls had not agreed to come. “Well, they had no way of knowing ‘Gary My-Pleasure’ would be staying with us tonight, and I’m certainly grateful for that, those vultures.
