This is a G rated Story
Lisa had for some time been lured back into Gary’s room by his sweet declarations. She was reassured that he liked her after all. Thankfully, he didn’t need her a bit. He just genuinely liked her. Still, she was a trifle confused, so she asked, “What could he possibly see as in impediment in me? I’m a candy striper after all. It’s my job to make sure all the patients are as comfortable as possible.”
“That’s just it Lisa, I am sure that the coach could see that I feel very restless when you are around. Very comfortable too, I might add. It’s peculiar I’ll admit, but it’s true. Anyway, the coach wouldn’t like the restlessness part one bit. That’s why he’d shoo you out for sure.”
“Well, I certainly wouldn’t want to be a contributing factor in keeping you on with us here at the hospital. I hate to say it, but your coach would have a point in sending me away if I was,” Lisa said thoughtfully. “Come to think of it, what am I saying? I think I’d rather you have to stay here for as long as possible, as long as you were ok. It would give me something to look forward to when I have to come to volunteer,” she added with a wink.
Gary laughed. “College man that I am, I think I could come up with some other ideas about how it might be possible to see you without enjoying the hospitality of this nice old hospital. That, however, is not proper just yet.”
“You’re right Gary. First you need to get better before you do anything else.”
“No, that’s not quite it. I have a thing about doing things right, and I can’t go on until I find out a few more things about you.”
