They perused the extensive dinner menu for a few minutes.After a while Lisa came to the conclusion that selecting the right meal was as worrisome as choosing the right dinner dress. Seeming to understand her dilemma, Gary, ever to the rescue, offered to order for her. With that troublesome task no longer distressing her, Lisa was once again able to relax.They chatted on until the sumptuous dinner Gary ordered for them came. The food smelled and tasted heavenly, and it took all of Lisa's self composure to eat with timidity and refinement in the presence of such a lusciously inviting feast.

Gary told Lisa about an upcoming event he was involved with arranging at the university. It was a black-tie Creole dinner highlighting French culture and its influence on the people of Louisiana. Southern Californians who were originally from Louisiana would be delivering speeches on various aspects of the topic. Videos would also be shown and the hall would be decorated according to the French style. Gary was so animated when he talked about it, even more so than when he was discussing the collegiate sports teams he belonged to. It was obviously very important to him.
